Community Players Beaumont Community Players has been in existence for over seventy-five years, entertaining audiences with professional quality Broadway plays and musicals that range from Rodgers and Hammerstein to Neil Simon. The local volunteer thespians have expanded from a small troupe performing at the City of Beaumont's Fair Park, to a myriad of Southeast Texas talents continuing this same tradition and engaging in collaborative performances with the Symphony of Southeast Texas, Lamar University Theatre Department and other arts-related organizations. Boasting an annual five season show subscription in addition to an extensive children's summer program, BCP is the only non-profit community based performance organization for local citizenry. Beaumont Ballet Theater The Beaumont Ballet Theater was founded in 1982 by Artistic Director Bonnie Cokinos and has been a dynamic force in enriching the cultural community of Southeast Texas. Through networking the Beaumont Ballet Theater is able to showcase the talents of area artists and to offer free performances of Fall Premiere and Cinderella as a gift to thousands of children. | Geraldine D. Humphreys Cultural Center -- 1700 Sam Houston Ave., Liberty This center, housing a libray and threatre, was built in 1970 on the site of "Seven Pine", the home of Franklin Hardin. They propery and a portion of the funds were given to the city by the Humphreys Foundation. In 1976, as a Bicentennial Project, a bell tower was built at the Center to house the first exact replica of the history Liberty Bell. |
